Philly Cheesesteak Sliders: A Delicious Twist on a Classic

If you’re craving a taste of Philadelphia, but don’t want to tackle a full-sized cheesesteak, these Philly Cheesesteak Sliders are the perfect solution! Combining the rich flavors of thinly sliced steak, sautéed peppers, onions, and gooey provolone cheese, these sliders pack a punch in a bite-sized portion. They’re perfect for game day, parties, or a cozy family dinner. Let’s dive into the recipe!

Ingredients

To make these mouthwatering Philly Cheesesteak Sliders, you will need:

  • 12 Slider rolls
  • 1 pound Thinly sliced steak
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 Green pepper (diced)
  • 1 Onion (diced)
  • 6 slices Provolone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons Butter (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon Onion (finely diced)

Directions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). This temperature ensures that everything cooks evenly and the cheese melts perfectly.

Step 2: Prepare the Slider Rolls

Separate the tops and bottoms of your slider rolls. Place the bottom halves in an 11″ x 7″ baking dish or on a baking sheet. Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on both the tops and bottoms of the rolls. This adds flavor and helps keep the sliders moist during baking.

Step 3: Cook the Steak

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the thinly sliced steak. Sprinkle with salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper. Cook until the steak is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Once cooked, drain off any excess liquid and set the steak aside.

Step 4: Sauté the Peppers and Onions

In the same skillet, add the diced green pepper and onion. Sauté until they are tender, about 4-5 minutes. Drain off any excess liquid to prevent soggy sliders, then set aside.

Step 5: Assemble the Sliders

Now it’s time to layer the goodness! Spread the cooked steak evenly over the bottom pieces of the rolls in the baking dish. Next, add the sautéed peppers and onions on top of the steak. Finally, lay the provolone cheese slices over the top of the vegetables.

Step 6: Top and Brush with Butter

Place the tops of the slider rolls on top of the cheese. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter with the finely diced raw onion. Using a pastry brush, generously brush this mixture over the tops of the rolls. This will give your sliders a beautiful golden color and an irresistible flavor.

Step 7: Bake the Sliders

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. After that, remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 8: Cut and Serve

Once out of the oven, allow the sliders to cool for a minute or two. Cut them into individual sliders, serve them warm, and watch them disappear!
