Ingredients
  

Cookies
  • 113 g butter, softened
  • 50 g granulated sugar
  • 1 g egg
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla
  • 0.25 tsp almond extract
  • 130 g flour
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 50 g strawberry jelly

Equipment

  • Electric Mixer
  • Baking Sheet
  • Silicone Mat

Method
 

  1. Line a large baking sheet with a silicone mat and make room in your fridge for a cookie sheet.
  2. In a large bowl, add the softened butter and beat with an electric mixer on HIGH until light and fluffy.
  3. Stream in the sugar while beating.
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract very well.
  5. Sprinkle the flour and salt over the dough and mix with the mixer just until it comes together.
  6. Scoop out 2 teaspoons of dough, roll into a ball, and place on baking sheet.
  7. Use your pinky to make a heart shape in each dough ball and fill with jelly.
  8. Place cookies in fridge for one hour to chill before baking.
  9. Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake cookies for 12 minutes until edges are golden brown. Let cool on pan.

Notes

Ensure the cookies are completely cool before removing from the pan to prevent breakage.
