Salted Caramel Rice Krispies Football Treats

These delightful football-shaped treats are perfect for game day, combining the classic flavors of Rice Krispies and salted caramel.

Ingredients
  

  • 226 g Unsalted Butter 2 sticks
  • 570 g Mini Marshmallows
  • 300 g Rice Krispie Cereal about 10 cups
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 340 g Caramel Squares 12 Ounce package
  • 397 g Sweetened Condensed Milk 1 can
  • 57 g Butter 1/2 stick
  • Sea Salt for sprinkling
  • Wilton white icing tube for decoration

Equipment

  • 9 x 9 pan

Method
 

  1. Spray a 9 x 9 pan with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
  3. Add the marshmallows, stirring constantly until melted.
  4. Once the marshmallows are melted, add in the Rice Krispie and stir.
  5. Using a rubber spatula, transfer the cereal mixture to the prepared pan and press down firmly and evenly.
  6. Allow the Rice Krispies to cool in the pan completely.
  7. Once cooled, use a football-shaped cookie cutter to cut out football shapes.
  8. Line a baking sheet with wax or parchment paper. Place the footballs on the lined baking sheet and prepare salted caramel sauce.
  9. In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, add the caramels, butter and milk. Stir occasionally until melted.
  10. Remove caramel sauce from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
  11. Ice each Rice Krispies football with the caramel sauce.
  12. Sprinkle a touch of sea salt on top of the caramel footballs.
  13. With a Wilson white icing tube, pipe the laces of each football krispie.
  14. Let set for 5-10 minutes.
