  • 1 ml oil as per cake mix instructions
  • 1 ml water as per cake mix instructions
Cream Cheese Topping
  • 113 g cream cheese softened
  • 56 g butter softened
  • 180 g powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 30 ml milk adjust for desired consistency

Equipment

  • Waffle Iron

Method

  1. Plug in your waffle iron and let it heat up. Once heated, spray generously with non-stick spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the red velvet cake mix with the ingredients listed on the box. Stir until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the preheated waffle iron. Use about ½ to ¾ cup of batter per waffle. Close the lid and cook according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  4. Carefully remove the waffle using tongs or a fork. Repeat with the remaining batter.
  5. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
  6. Slowly add the milk, whisking until you reach your desired consistency. Drizzle over warm waffles.

Notes

For an extra touch, top the waffles with fresh berries or a sprinkle of powdered sugar. Use milk instead of water for richer waffles.
