Ingredients

Red Velvet Cookie Dough
  • 133 g granulated sugar
  • 113 g butter room temperature
  • 55 g brown sugar – packed
  • 60 ml milk
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder not Dutch-processed
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp red food color I prefer gel
  • 219 g all-purpose flour
  • 57 g mini chocolate chips
  • 8 pieces double-stuffed Oreo cookies – crushed
  • 2 tbsp white jimmies not non periels

Equipment

  • Mixer

Method

  1. Combine sugar, butter, brown sugar, milk, cocoa powder, salt, vanilla, and food color in a large mixer bowl. Beat together until well combined.
  2. Add in the flour, mixing until just incorporated. Don’t over-mix as it will change the texture of the cookie dough.
  3. Fold in the mini chocolate chips, crushed cookies, and jimmies until mixed throughout.
  4. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour prior to serving.

Notes

If you are concerned about killing bacteria in the flour, you can either pour the flour onto a baking sheet & bake in a 350-degree oven for 5 minutes or place it on a microwave-safe plate & microwave for at least 1-2 minutes or until it reaches 160 degrees before adding to your dough mixture.
