  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry thawed
  • 113 g cream cheese softened
  • 60 g powdered sugar
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract alcohol-free
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries diced small
  • 1 egg beaten egg for egg wash
  • 2 tbsp turbinado or coarse sugar
For the glaze
  • 120 g powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp milk
  • 0.25 tsp vanilla extract alcohol-free
  • 1 drop pink food coloring optional

Method
 

  1. Thaw puff pastry in refrigerator overnight or at room temperature for 30-40 minutes. Don’t microwave—it makes pastry soggy.
  2. Dice strawberries small so they fit nicely in heart shapes. Large chunks prevent sealing.
