The Perfect Peach Crisp

A comforting, sweet, and slightly tangy dessert made with juicy peaches, topped with a golden, buttery crisp topping. This dessert is the perfect way to enjoy fresh peaches and is ideal for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Filling:
  • 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • For the Topping:
  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small cubes
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish or a similar-sized dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Toss to combine and coat the peaches evenly. Pour the peach mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, combine the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add the cold cubes of butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the peach filling.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbling.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top.

Notes

  • For a more tangy flavor, you can add a bit more lemon juice to the filling.
  • Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for extra indulgence.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
