Homemade Mixed Nut Butter

Homemade Mixed Nut Butter

A creamy, wholesome spread made from roasted almonds, cashews, and walnuts—this homemade mixed nut butter is rich in flavor, protein-packed, and perfect for toast, smoothies, or snacking straight off the spoon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup raw almonds
  • 1 cup raw cashews
  • 1/2 cup raw walnuts
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil (e.g., grapeseed or avocado oil)
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt (optional)
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional, for a hint of sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread almonds, cashews, and walnuts evenly on a baking sheet.
  2. Roast the nuts in the oven for 10–12 minutes, stirring halfway through, until fragrant and lightly golden.
  3. Remove from oven and let the nuts cool for 5 minutes.
  4. Transfer the roasted nuts to a high-speed food processor. Blend for 1 minute until the nuts become crumbly.
  5. Continue blending, scraping down the sides as needed, for 7–10 minutes total, until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.
  6. Add the oil, sea salt, and sweetener (if using), and blend again for 1 minute until fully incorporated.
  7. Pour the nut butter into a clean jar and let it cool completely before sealing.
  8. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month. Stir before each use if separation occurs.

Notes

  • You can skip the sweetener for a more savory spread.
  • Use a powerful food processor for the smoothest texture.
  • Great as a gift when stored in decorative jars.
