Irresistible Crockpot Christmas Crack: A Sweet Treat for the Holidays

The holiday season is a time for joy, laughter, and, most importantly, delicious treats. If you’re looking for a simple yet delightful dessert to add to your festive spread, look no further than Crockpot Christmas Crack. This sweet and salty confection combines the rich flavors of chocolate with crunchy peanuts, all topped with a sprinkle of holiday cheer. Best of all, it’s incredibly easy to make, thanks to your trusty crockpot. Let’s dive into the recipe and create a holiday treat that will have everyone coming back for seconds!

Ingredients

For this recipe, you’ll need the following ingredients. Feel free to adjust the quantities to suit your needs:

  • 24 ounces white chocolate almond bark, broken into pieces
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 12 ounces chocolate bar or chocolate bark
  • 5 cups salted dry roasted peanuts
  • Sprinkles (optional, for a festive touch)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Crockpot: Begin by spraying the inside of your crockpot with a non-stick cooking spray or using a crockpot liner for effortless cleanup. This step is crucial to prevent the chocolate from sticking as it melts.

  2. Line Your Baking Sheets: Line two baking sheets with silpat liners or wax paper and set them aside. This will be where you place your chocolate clusters to cool and set.

  3. Layer the Ingredients: Place the broken pieces of white chocolate almond bark at the bottom of the crockpot. Next, add the semi-sweet chocolate chips, chocolate bar or chocolate bark, and finally, the salted dry roasted peanuts. Ensure the ingredients are evenly distributed for consistent melting.

  4. Cook on Low: Cover the crockpot with the lid and set it to low heat for one hour. This gentle heat will allow the chocolate to melt slowly and evenly.

  5. Stir the Mixture: After an hour, remove the lid and stir the mixture thoroughly. This step ensures that all the peanuts are well-coated with the chocolate. If there are still unmelted chocolate pieces, cover the crockpot again and continue cooking, stirring every 15 minutes until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.

  6. Form the Clusters: Using a cookie scoop or two tablespoons, scoop heaping tablespoons of the candy mixture onto the prepared baking sheets. Work quickly to avoid the chocolate setting before you add the sprinkles.

  7. Add the Sprinkles: Immediately sprinkle your clusters with festive sprinkles before the chocolate hardens. This step adds a delightful holiday touch and an extra layer of texture.

  8. Let Them Set: Allow the Christmas Crack clusters to cool completely at room temperature until the chocolate is set and firm.

  9. Store Properly: Once set, store the clusters in an airtight container to maintain their freshness and crunch.
